Cairns Botanic Gardens

Description

Edge Hill, a neighbourhood of Cairns, Queensland, Australia, is home to the 38-hectare Cairns Botanic Gardens. One of the first public gardens in Australia, the garden was founded in 1886. Many exotic palms, orchids, ferns, and other plants may be found there, as well as different tropical vegetation types.

Take a stroll around the several themed gardens of the Cairns Botanic Gardens, each of which highlights a distinct facet of tropical horticulture. The Flecker Garden, which showcases plants native to the area, the Gondwana Heritage Garden, which showcases plants from the extinct supercontinent of Gondwana; the Rainforest Boardwalk, a winding path through the lush rainforest; and the Zhanjiang Friendship Garden, which honours the sister city relationship between Cairns and Zhanjiang, China, are just a few of the gardens.

The Cairns Botanic Gardens have a Visitors Center in addition to the gardens, which provide a variety of information on the gardens and the flora that can be found there. Moreover, there is a gift store where guests may buy souvenirs, books, and other garden-related products.

The Botanic Gardens also provide educational programmes and guided tours for people curious to learn more about the local flora in the Cairns area. All ages of visitors can benefit from these activities, which are intended to help visitors better understand the unusual tropical plants in the gardens.
The Cairns Botanic Gardens are a must-visit location for anybody interested in tropical horticulture or wishing to stroll through lovely grounds. It's the ideal place to while away a day in Cairns because of its magnificent flora and tranquil ambience.
