Playa de Boyd

Descripción

Boyd's Beach is a stunningly beautiful and secluded beach located on the southern coast of New South Wales, Australia. It is located in the Parque Nacional Eurobodalla, known for its pristine coastline, unspoiled forests, and abundant wildlife. Boyd's Beach is a hidden gem that offers visitors a unique experience of natural beauty, peace, and tranquillity.

The Beach is named after Benjamin Boyd, an entrepreneur who made a name for himself in the 19th century as a whaling captain, merchant, and adventurer. He was also known for his visionary ideas, and one of his plans was to create a port at Twofold Bay to export goods from the region. Unfortunately, Boyd's plans were unsuccessful, and he disappeared under mysterious circumstances in 1851. Nevertheless, his legacy lives on, and Boyd's Beach is just one of the many places named after him.

Boyd's Beach is in a sheltered cove, accessed via a walking track that winds through the forest. The track is well-maintained, and visitors can expect to see a variety of native flora and fauna along the way. The Beach is relatively small, with soft white sand and crystal-clear water. The surrounding cliffs and rock formations add to the beauty of the location, and visitors can often spot dolphins and whales frolicking in the ocean.

One of the best things about Boyd's Beach is that it is relatively unknown and unspoiled. Unlike many other beaches in Australia, it is not crowded, and visitors can enjoy the peace of nature without the distraction of crowds or commercial activity. The Beach is ideal for swimming, snorkelling, and sunbathing, and there are also opportunities for bushwalking and birdwatching in the surrounding forest.

Boyd's Beach is also a popular destination for surfers, although the surf can be unpredictable. The waves are generally best in the morning, and visitors should check the conditions before entering the water. There are no lifeguards on duty, so visitors should exercise caution and only swim in the designated swimming areas.

Visitors to Boyd's Beach should also take care to protect the environment. The Beach is located in a national park, and visitors are asked to respect the natural surroundings and take their rubbish with them when they leave. Camping is not allowed on the Beach, but there are campsites nearby that offer a range of facilities.
