James Price Point – Kimberley
Description
A coastal spot called James Price Point may be found in Western Australia's Kimberley region. It bears the name James M. Price in honour of the surveyor employed in the region in the late 19th century. In addition to its rocky coastline, red cliffs, and white sand beaches, the area is renowned for its natural beauty. Also, it is the location of important cultural sites and is very important to the local Indigenous population.
James Price Point has generated debate in recent years due to plans to construct a liquefied natural gas (LNG) processing facility there. The project, which was put out by the government of Western Australia and several large energy firms, notably Woodside Petroleum, encountered strong resistance from locals and environmental organisations.
