Adelaide Zoo

Description

One of Adelaide's most recognisable sights is Adelaide Zoo, which is home to approximately 2,500 animals and 250 types of local and exotic mammals, birds, reptiles, and fish on eight hectares of gorgeous botanic grounds.

It is the second-oldest zoo in the country and plays a vital role in the cultural and social history of South Australia. Generations of South Australians have experienced the wonder of a zoo visit since Adelaide Zoo was opened to the public in 1883.

It's a bright sanctuary and a tranquil green city paradise that makes you feel like you've entered another planet. It is bursting with variety, colour, and exciting things to see and do. It provides a close-up view of a zoo while incorporating amusement, surprise, and fantasy.

The Adelaide Zoo offers a variety of supplementary activities. For example, you can join an Adelaide Zoo free walkabout tour, which departs every hour, to experience one of the free daily keeper tours, a unique behind-the-scenes animal encounter, and keeper talks.
